I take it you already have a sprayer. All you need is a set of strip band nozzles, or if you want narrower spacing get some 6 shooters. Go out about a month before planting and squirt your UAN on and don't worry about what direction you're planting. We've got thousands of acres around here fertilized like that every year.
I have the 6 shooters. 25 gallons preplant and 25 gallons at knee high. Throw in some humic acid on the knee high pass to reduce any leaf burns and roll on! Has worked well for me. Of course if you have a knife set up on a bar it would be a more effective way to apply but I already owned the sprayer so this was the way I chose to apply it. |
