Oh yes.

Here's a tip for creosote formation: If you're burning conifer tree wood, you need to run the stove wide open a couple times a day when you charge the stove with a new load of firewood for about 30 minutes.

The worst creosote formation happens when you throw in a new load of conifer firewood on a fire where you have the air intake turned down, and you get lots of cooler smoke formation.
