perryton, tx | I pull an old DMI crumbler behind my disk. With the length of the tongue there’s about a 10-15 foot gap between the disk and the crumbler where a person can compare the ground that’s just been disked only to the ground that’s had both. It’s a pretty stark difference in how level the ground is not to mention how many fewer clods and things like that there are. With that said I think the separate crumbler with round bars is quite a bit heavier and more aggressive than the integral rolling baskets with thin rectangular bars I see on most newer disks. Like others said if it’s too wet it will quickly get packed with mud and digging it out is miserable. I once had a guy pull mine into a low spot that still had water in it and digging out the baskets was an all day job for 4 of us. | |
