I guess in my case running it 2-3 inches off the side of the row with a coulter running shallow on the planter has been working, if a nozzle plugs you will find the exact row it happened in later.
Not sure how much $ wise it works out to vs. all broadcast, but seems my yields have trended better when doing planter applied and following up with extra N sidedress. Less tied up P probably.
Also not having to make an extra trip across the field, or waiting on the co-op to spread in the spring, although it is easy enough to do P and K dry in the fall. Definitely going to need to do dry K in the future, but depending on how cost of 10-34-0 and DAP per unit of P work out to be the liquid may be a better bet on the high PH stuff I have.

If you switch over to doing no-till going planter applied and sidedress may be the most efficient.
