I have never seen a problem with the valor and I wouldn't put it on more than two weeks ahead of time. You want every chance of residual carrying into the milo to keep post emerging weeds down. You worry about weeds preplant with Paraquat. You don't want to waste residual anything months ahead of time, it is too important in crop.
