SE South Dakota | Two years ago I split a poor field of corn with a starter fert with humic acid in it… it had noticeably better early growth and what really stuck out to me was the root size and the root hairs on the stater side, not sure if that was do to the nutrients or humic?… At harvest the corn was quite a bit dryer but not sure if there was much yield it looked like maybe some on the yield map but nothing big.
Fast forward to this year I Striptilled into it this spring and planted corn again, the side with the starter from the year before look noticeably better/healthier all year and yielded better, nothing huge but I’ve been kinda scratching my head on it all year wondering if it’s just a fluke or if there might be something to it | |
