| You are the perfect candidate for John Deere B-Wrap. It is a breathable wrap applied by the baler made just for people in your position. It works well and is easy to sell a bale at a time. The bad is it's cost, slows down production but not near as much as hauling and wrapping as a separate operation. Best way I can describe it is a net wrapped bale with a layer of Tyvek type material sandwiched between the net. Best part is you can swap between regular net and B-Wrap just by swapping out the net roll and picking the right setting in the monitor. Only modification to the baler is an RFDI reader and software that comes in the kit. Did I mention I ran the early pre production test units. I hated not being able to use self dump hay trailers because it messes up the membrane overlap orientation that can allow water to penetrate verses being shed. The amount of material coming off the bale is considerable and we needed a dump truck to haul all of it away. Not a problem if you are selling the hay, it becomes the buyers problem. If I remember correctly a roll of net only does 30 something rolls, so lots of roll swaps. Might be different today. | |
