SW OH | When I bought my first wrapper it was winter time. I wrapped 3 dry bales that had been in the barn for about 6 months. After being wrapped for 2 months or so I fed them. They looked good but didn't smell very good. My cows ate them, but seemed to take longer as in they didn't like them as well as hay out of the barn.
A barn is the best answer. We have had great luck with a cheap tarp from harbor freight. Our tarped bales are as good as bales in the barn as long as the wind stays under 50 MPH. I can explain the process if you want me to.
