Butterfield, MN | Sorry for not responding over the weekend. I assumed it would be the switch and didn't figure there would be any more to it. If you don't already have this document, I'd download it:

The second page shows the menu structure for the SmarTrax box. Go to the first screen down in the Status Menu. That will show either STEER SWITCH or Steer Switch. If it's all caps, that means that the circuit is open and the steering should not be able to engage, which is how it should be if the pressure switch is unplugged. If it doesn't, it sure sounds like a short in the cabling, so I'd keep working my way up the cabling to the SmarTrax controller. You could also just unplug the large round connector from the back of the SmarTrax box (it's still going to be powered through the small round 4-pin plug). If you unplug that and the Steer Switch letters stay lowercase, then it's likely that there's an internal short or component failure in the SmarTrax box. Fortunately, it will still let you keep steering, but in a less safe way. I think Raven will still look at these in their repair department, or you may be able to reach out to Ag Express and see if they can help you with repairing it once you're done for the season. | |
