SW WI | After drinking alcohol, lately I’ve just had horrible sleeping. Now of course I know alcohol disrupts sleep patterns but what I’ve started experiencing is multiple times worse than how it used to be for me.
I would categorize as a couple beers, once a week. What happens is terrible dreams. I don’t know if I would say nightmares but any problem or insecurities that might be in my mind, manifest 100 times worse in my dreams. I have trouble getting more than 4 hours sleep on a night like that. Very tired and want to go back to sleep but feels like my thoughts are coming at me at 100 mph after the initial dream, when I’m in that state of almost sleep but not quite sleeping.
I’ve cut back on alcohol but last night, family gathering, and 3 beers in a 5 hour period. Did not feel tipsy or alcohol effects before going to sleep but same thing happened…..terrible dreams and lack of sleep.
Some would say…..just cut out alcohol completely. Yes, I’m considering that. Just wondering if others have this effect. My daughter said this happens to her and that’s a reason she rarely if ever has any alcohol.
This just developed for me this summer.
