Subject: Is our food addictive?? Carnivore experience update

Back in March, I went full on Carnivore. Nothing but Beef. Here is what I reported back then:

When I started this, I was 269 pounds.... at 6'4", this puts me right on the line of being overweight/obese.... This morning I weighed myself at 240 pounds....

I have long been a proponent of intermittent fasting.... and not eating if your not hungry..... That in mind, here is quick rundown of how it all started:

Sunday Morning, I ate a normal Breakfast with my family.
Sunday afternoon I had a sirloin steak for dinner.
Monday, I managed to get through work without snacking, but it was rough.... I had another Sirloin steak when I got home from my town job, about 2:00 P.M.
Monday evening my wife fixed Burgers for dinner, so a Had a burger puck, no bun, no cheese, no sides....
Tuesday was interesting. I felt "Off" all day. Headache, stomach was a little queasy, Just could tell something was off..... So when I got home from work, I grilled a Ribeye and ate it.
Tuesday evening, I declined to eat dinner, as I was not hungry.... I figured I would be awful hungry Wednesday, as I hadn't eaten since 2:00.
Wednesday when I got home from work I realized it had been 24 hours, and I was still not hungry..... So I started the routine of eating a steak everyday when I get home from the town job..... and only because I felt like I needed to eat something... I was still never getting hungry, like I used to..... and then the pounds just started falling off.........

Now the update:

I have come to believe that I was addicted to some Chemical in our Ultra-processed food. I believe the Tuesday referenced in the above description, I was actually going through chemical withdrawal, no different than alcohol or really any other drug....

My reasoning, is that now, I am no longer strictly Carnivore, but Meat does make up the majority of my diet. Today, I avoid any processed foods. I eat whole grain foods that we make from flour we grind in our own kitchen. I can eat 1/2 pound of Sausage (seasoned in our kitchen from ground pork) and a short stack of whole grain oat flour pancakes, and feel like a Million bucks. If I get Lazy and eat something as trivial as one single Oreo cookie, I am going to have a low grade headache and feel generally bad for about 36 hours as I come out of the addiction again. This is a very good motivation to stay in line!

In our family, we have a term "Hangry" for when you get so Hungry that you are Angry. I now believe that when we are " Hangry" it is not hunger, it is starting to withdrawal process from the addiction from the "Preservatives" or Chemicals in our food. I used to get Hangry all the time, and I do not think it has happened once since I broke the addiction back in March.

The last thing I would be cautious about, this diet is tough.... there is very little food in the grocery store I can eat. Eating at a Restaurant, wedding reception, random dinner party becomes really challenging. I suppose that I could renew my addiction, and just feed that headache the next day with more ultra processed food, but my weight loss and feeling better would go away in short order.

Anyone else experience anything like this? would be really curious if others have....
