Pittsburg, Kansas | Is that recommendation a "minimum" or an absolute amount?
Would make a big difference to someone on a carnivore diet. :-)
If it is a minimum, no problem. If absolute then pretty limiting.
Wife and I personally just eat as much meat and eggs as we want. Then fill in a little variety with things like avocado, dill pickles, olives and sauerkraut. With some occasional in season tomatoes and salad. Wife is much more meat based than I am and she avoids about half of those because she feels better when she does. My main concern being diabetic is blood sugar but the few veggies I have don't seem to affect the way I feel.
I have never figured the amount of protein in grams we eat (which is very different than the grams of meat). We just eat meat until we are satisfied. Which is quite a lot sometimes. The amount varies also dependent on the fat content. Fatter cuts we are satisfied quicker. Too lean and later we are looking for something with fat to snack on. I know that sounds weird, but we have observed it for quite some time now. |
