Neither MCT oil or olive oil are good for frying as they have a low smoke point. Better frying oils are canola, peanut, corn or sesame.
It isn't hard to find an olive oil that lists a US source. Country of origin does need to be stated and countries can buy from another country but still need to state the country of origin. To cover their bases, they may list a variety of countries. Stick with a US company or a source that says just Greece or Spain and you'll be fine.
