| Here are some things you can try in combination and see if it helps over time:
Buy a sleep mask made out of silk with Velcro straps. It will help block out light that can enter the eyes and eyelids and disrupt sleep. can order online. Wash it by hand after each use and hang to dry. Hand washing the mask is important because bad bacteria will build up and can cause an eye and eyelid/eyelash infection over time if you don't wash it in warm water and soap. Don't put it in the washer or dryer.
Use a small fan at night to blow air on you. The low and gentle sound from it can help block out other sounds. WindMachine makes a good fan for such use.
Don't eat anything after 4 pm. No caffeine after 12 noon would be a good thing to consider. No alcohol period. No nicotine in any form. No milk before bedtime.
Empty the bladder completely before going to bed and don't drink liquid within an hour of lying down.
Buy some liquid Magnesium capsules. Take one capsule an hour before bed. The capsules are easier to swallow than the hard, elongated tablets.
Don't eat spicy foods nor anything coated in heavy breading. Low salt intake to help keep pulse and blood pressure down
Avoid sweets entirely and drink lots of water through out each day. No sodas or carbonated water period. No sweet drinks. No fruit juice.
No TV or internet an hour or two before bed. Put your phone, tablet, laptop, and all other electronics completely away and not anywhere near your bed or body.
Don't watch the news or NAT at night. | |
