Subject: RE: frying catfish, in what

Franklinton, LA
I am going to suggest checking Amazon.COM for LA Fish Fry products. They also have other fish fry products. A local grocery store may have these items in stock.

Most of the people in this area use peanut oil because it will cook pretty hot without scorching. The hotter cooking temperature will let you cook the fish faster and they will not soak up as much oil.

If you are cooking for children, you might try slicing some filets diagonally into 5/8 - 3/4" wide strips. The children will enjoy eating these strips like french fries.

I hope you enjoy the catfish.
