Right or wrong , we do it the easy way and it works for us. Simply take the beans and prepare them (more or less clean them) like you were going to can or freeze them but don't blanch them or go through any other trouble and then just toss them in a 100% cotton pillow case and throw them in the freezer. When you need some beans just get out what you want to use and start cooking them immediately, do not thaw them first. Try a few like this and see if it works for you.
