Deereman76 - 9/6/2024 09:26 My Hope for Peterson Acadamy, is that as a 48 YO man, I can buy into any class I find interesting. Not looking for a degree, but would like to be able to take a class here and there that interests me.

Same here. At $500 a year for unlimited access to all the courses that seems reasonable. I have not checked any time recently what college courses cost locally for adults but I imagine 500 bucks would not go too far.

As DKO alluded to, it is probably going to come from a conservative standpoint (which I don't have a problem with) but it looks like at least in the beginning the professors they are allowing to teach the courses have pretty good credentials and are from prestigious background teaching positions. That don't automatically make them good teachers, but hopefully the people at Peterson Academy are using standards other than just making money in choosing who gives the presentations. Time will tell.

Of the two computer courses at the local college that I took as an adult one was outstanding (introduction to Pascal computer programming) and the other I would have been better off just reading PC Magazine (which I also did). It was a computer basics course with about half of it programming in Basic. The professor just wasn't much good and was teaching some of the stuff that was way outdated and uninformative. Like he had made the course content up ten years earlier and never changed anything. Kind of a waste of time.

At first glance PragerU#mce_temp_url# looks more like a think tank type deal rather than a University. A lot of short clips from influencers rather than a course type setting.
