That's a lot of practice time. Sometimes I wonder what the organizers of these kid's leagues are thinking when they make the real aggressive practice schedules.
If there were 2 practices and a game in a week at 11 that would still be plenty in my opinion. I personally didn't play any organized sports until 7th grade and that worked out well for me. Once I did start to play I got up to speed pretty quickly, and didn't really feel like I missed out. I had a lot more fun having time to play outside after school riding fourwheeler, horses, doing chores, basically was still active but also got to learn a lot before high school made life so busy.
That being said, I'm not sure that I would force a kid to stick out a sport that isn't really even good for him physically. Not everyone who is smaller has to be the next Rudy.
