It’s a good opportunity to both contemplate and discuss the difference between quitting and stopping. And if he stops, replacing that activity with something more to his liking. Sometimes what is viewed as quitting is really just stopping and making a different choice. Excessive commitment syndrome holds a lot of people back, both participants and parents.
