Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | Along this line, I have a free app on my iPhone that does this also. It is very easy to use and even has some record keeping capabilities. It allows me to shrink my crops to standard selling moisture levels such as corn to either 15.0% or 15.5% moisture. Soybeans to 13.0 etc. It can even "un" shrink crops such as soybeans that have gotten too dry.
This can be handy for situations where a variety may have gotten overly dry. Unshrinking them puts them on an equal basis to compare them with other varieties. Unfortunately no elevator pays one extra for being overly dry.
Here's our procedure, my Great Nephew runs the grain cart and makes a hand written log of the wet weights from the scale on the grain cart. He starts a new page in a notebook for each field. I realize there are automated systems for doing this but a notebook and a pen work fine for us. It doesn't take much time to write it down.
At the end of the season I create a spreadsheet from his hand written logs. Part of this is just for organization and comparison against the combine yield monitor. My spreadsheet is very simple and basically just lists the wet weights and totals them. I have a cell for the average moisture indicated by the yield monitor.
I could have the spreadsheet mathematically shrink the weight as you ask but I just have the spreadsheet calculate the total wet weight and wet bushels. I enter the wet bushels and average moisture from the yield moisture into the phone App. The App shrinks the wet bushels to dry bushels and I enter that value into the spreadsheet. I also enter the "dry" bushels as indicated on the yield monitor for comparison. The spreadsheet can calculate average yield etc. The spreadsheet is saved and printed out on paper.
